In terms of price, this electric scooter will be cheaper than the existing Chetak scooters. What else will be special about it? Read the complete details below.
Bajaj Auto is gearing up to expand the lineup of its Chetak electric scooter by introducing an affordable variant. Before the launch of this new Chetak electric scooter, some pictures of it have been leaked, showcasing it in a blue shade paint. The new variant bears a style very similar to the premium and urban variants of Chetak. However, there will be differences in the form of steel wheels and drum brakes in the new model, as opposed to the alloy wheels and disc brake system found in the premium and urban variants of Chetak.
The new affordable Chetak electric scooter may feature physical button slots and a monochrome display instead of a colored LCD. Additionally, it will offer open storage instead of the locked glove box available in the existing variants.
Battery Pack and Range of the New Chetak EV
Currently, the powertrain details of the new Chetak have not been revealed. However, based on the leaked pictures, it is expected that the performance of the hub motor available in it will be less than the existing models. The Chetak premium scooter comes with a 3.2kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 126 kilometers on a full charge. Meanwhile, the urban variant of Chetak features a 2.9kWh battery pack, offering a range of up to 126 kilometers after a single charge. It operates in only one riding mode, Eco, with a top speed of 63 kilometers per hour.
Bajaj’s First CNG Bike
Following the launch of the new Chetak variant, Bajaj Auto will also introduce its first CNG bike, expected to be launched in June 2024. This motorcycle is expected to offer tremendous mileage. It may feature a 110 cc engine, generating power of about 8.6PS and torque of 9.81Nm. This motor will be combined with a CNG kit.
According to leaked pictures, the CNG kit will be placed under the seat of the bike. It may come with 17-inch wheels, drum brakes at the front and rear, as well as telescopic forks and a monoshock unit for suspension duty. This motorcycle will be available in both ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and non-ABS options.
