More than a year has passed since the official announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI, but details about the project remain sparse. It is currently known that the release is scheduled for late 2025 and will be exclusive to PlayStation and Xbox. Despite this, PC gamers remain optimistic that a port will eventually be developed for their platform.
During a recent investor call, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick reiterated that GTA VI is strictly a console release for the time being. He acknowledged the anticipation surrounding the game but emphasized that there is no pressure on Rockstar Games to rush its development:
“I think there is a lot of anticipation for the game both inside and outside the company. We know that Rockstar strives for perfection. […] I never declare success before the time. I have always said that overconfidence is the number one enemy of sustainable success. So we remain vigilant, closely monitoring our competitors, and we understand that they are not sitting idle either. Our entire organization is waiting.”
Zelnick also confirmed that Take-Two plans to release its titles on the upcoming Switch 2, though the timeline for discontinuing support for the original Switch remains unclear. The company recently released Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, which is also available on Nintendo’s hybrid console.
