Maruti Suzuki is about to bring a new model in the premium segment in the Indian market and it is going to be a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Highcross. The Maruti version of this model will be named ‘Engage’ and the company has filed an application to register this name.
Although this name has not been finalized yet because the application status has passed the formality check and in such a situation this name can also be rejected. In this situation, the company will have to find a new name for the rebadged version of the Innova Highcross.
Maruti Suzuki’s Innova Highcross rebadged model is being brought under the Toyota Suzuki Global partnership. With the help of this both the companies have increased their existing product portfolio and are helping each other in technology.
Coming to the Toyota Innova Highcross, the model has received a good response from the market and has become another successful product from Toyota. The company has sold 5750 units of this MPV in the month of March 2023 which is an impressive figure.
The Toyota Innova Highcross MPV received so many bookings that the company had to stop booking some of its variants for some time, while the waiting period for some variants has reached 2.5 years. In such a situation, it would be very difficult for Toyota to supply it to Maruti.
In such a situation, Maruti Suzuki is going to get limited supply of the rebadged version of Toyota Innova Highcross. Maruti Suzuki estimates that it can sell 10,000 units per month of the rebadged version of the Innova Highcross through Naxa dealerships.
This MPV of Maruti Suzuki is going to be different from the Innova Highcross in terms of looks. Its front part will be new and the rear part will also be slightly different. However, it is not confirmed whether it will be brought with the same engine option or not.
At the same time, we believe that the price of Toyota Innova Highcross rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki can be up to Rs 50,000 more. At the same time, the company can give some additional features and equipment in it so that it can be given a different identity.
Maruti Suzuki is taking a very aggressive approach regarding Nexa and is preparing to bring many new premium models. The company wants to make it the second largest car selling dealer network as soon as possible.
