Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has sold 5 million copies

Several times over the course of two decades, different studios have tried to create a worthy successor to the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy. Only the Toys for Bob studio managed to come close to the greatness of Naughty Dog’s early hits, releasing Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time in the fall of 2020. The financial performance of the title could only be guessed at—until recently.

Eagle-eyed Internet users noticed the LinkedIn profile of Toby Schadt, design director of It’s About Time. It states that the platformer has sold more than five million copies. For comparison, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy reached 10 million copies sold by 2019 (released in 2017). Interestingly, the developer also shared the success of Spyro Reignited Trilogy – this collection of remakes was purchased 10 million times.

Another interesting detail about Schadt’s profile is that it states he is working on an unannounced game. This is good news considering that Toys for Bob recently parted ways with Activision.
