Keep Your YouTube Browsing Private: Here’s How to Delete Your Search History

Are you aware that every search you make and every video you watch on YouTube is saved in your history? If you prefer to keep your browsing habits private, you can easily delete your search history by following these simple steps.

Chances are, you’re a regular user of YouTube, enjoying a plethora of videos on various topics. However, you might not want your search history to be visible to others. Fortunately, YouTube provides the option to delete your search history across all devices, including desktops, mobile devices, and smart TVs.

Deleting Search History on Desktop:

  1. Visit the YouTube website and sign in to your Google account.
  2. Click on your profile photo located at the top right corner.
  3. Select “History” and then navigate to the “Search History” tab.
  4. Click on “Delete all search history” and confirm to erase your search history.

Deleting Search History on Mobile Devices:

  1. Open the YouTube app and sign in to your Google account.
  2. Tap on your profile photo and choose “History and Privacy” from the options.
  3. Select “Search History.”
  4. Tap on “Delete all search history” to remove your previous searches.

Deleting Search History on Smart TVs:

  1. Launch the YouTube app on your smart TV and sign in to your Google account.
  2. Click on your profile photo located at the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Select “History” from the options.
  4. Navigate to the “Search History” tab and click on “Delete all search history.”

Additionally, you have the option to delete your search history for a specific time period. You can also prevent YouTube from tracking your search history by adjusting the Activity Controls settings. However, disabling this feature may result in generic video recommendations instead of personalized suggestions.
