According to Autopassioneitaliana, Fiat is thinking about reviving the Fiat 600 and Multipla models. At the same time, the Italians plan to reorganize the lineup and bring more crossovers to the market, as the demand for this type of vehicle is still growing.
In autumn 2023, Fiat wants to launch a 4m long, 1.52m high compact crossover on the CMP platform, which will have petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains. According to reports, the model will be called Fiat 600 (the electric version will be called 600e) and will be produced in Poland.
The second crossover will also be based on the CMP platform. Groupe PSA developed this platform in 2018 and the first model built on this platform was the DS3. This was followed by the Opel Mokka, Peugeot 2008 and the new Jeep Avenger.
This crossover will be called the Multipla and will be built in Turkey as Fiat moves production of the electric Doblo and Doblo to Spain and frees up production facilities. Other sources mention that the Fiat Multipla may be produced in Slovakia, in Trnava, where Peugeot and Citroen models were produced until now. Multipla will appear in 2024.
Fiat is also reportedly planning to build a successor to the Punto. The Italians used to have a small class model called the Argo, available only in South America. Using the same CMP platform, the Italians want to develop a new model for the South American market and for Europe.
The new model will be called Panda in Europe and will retain the Argo name in South America.
