According to the company, this increase is being done due to the rise in the prices of raw materials and problems related to the supply chain. The thing to note is that this year the company is increasing the prices of vehicles for the first time.
On the decision to increase the price, Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head (Sales and Marketing), Kia India, said, “At Kia, we always try to provide premium and technologically advanced products to our customers. However, the prices of raw materials are constantly fluctuating. “We have been forced to increase prices partly due to growth, adverse exchange rates and rising costs.”
He said, “A major part of this increase is being borne by the company itself, so that customers can drive their favorite Kia cars without much impact on the pocket.” It is noteworthy that Kia India has so far sold approximately 11.6 lakh cars in India and abroad. Of these, the best selling car is Seltos, of which more than 6.13 lakh units have been sold.
After this, Kia’s second best selling car is Sonet, which has sold more than 3.95 lakh units and then there is Carens, which has sold 1.59 lakh units. Of these, Seltos and Sonet are SUVs while Carens is MPV. Till now, Kia India has launched a total of five vehicles in the Indian market – Seltos, Carnival, Sonet, Carens and EV6. Of these, the company has also closed down Carnival.
