Ministry of Internal Affairs: in Russia the number of cybercrimes has sharply decreased

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia published a report on the state of crime in the Russian Federation for January-March 2022.

Every fourth crime in Russia is still committed using IT technologies. However, as follows from the above statistics, in the first three months of this year, the number of registered cybercrimes showed a noticeable decrease – by 8.5%, including serious and especially serious – by 14.4%.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs commented on the statistics:

 

According to experts, this indicates that illegal acts of this type were committed using call centers located in Ukraine, which were neutralized during a special military operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
