A new addition to the Snipping Tool, a standard Windows 11 utility used for capturing screenshots, has been discovered in the beta version of Windows 11. Based on this innovation, the operating system will soon be able to not only take screenshots but also “understand” the text contained within them.
Unlike a regular screenshot, which is saved as an image, the updated tool will be capable of recognizing text within the captured image and copying it for pasting into Notepad or any other application via the clipboard.
Similar functionalities are available in third-party applications, but since the Snipping Tool is already built into Windows 11, this update should make it more convenient for users to access this helpful feature without needing to install additional software. The exact release date for the widespread deployment of this feature remains unknown.
