A surprising case has come to light from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. A panchayat here ordered an elderly to beat him with shoes. This order was given because the elderly was accused of molesting a 30 -year -old woman. The video of the elderly being beaten with shoes is also going viral. At present, the police registered a case against the elderly and no complaint has been received against the order of the panchayat. A police officer gave this information to a news agency.
The Muzaffarnagar police said on Monday that a village panchayat ordered an elderly person to be beaten with shoes, as he was accused of molesting a 30 -year -old woman. The incident took place in Mahavalipur in Charathaval region on Saturday, when the woman went for defecation and 60 -year -old accused Tirathpal harassed her.
Local people claimed that after his complaint, the local panchayat held a meeting and directed that Tirathpal should be beaten with shoes twice. A video of the incident has surfaced on social media, in which an elderly person is seen beating the other with shoes.
At present, the police have registered a case against Tirathpal under Section 76 (attack on woman or use of criminal force) of the Indian Code (BNS) on the basis of the woman’s complaint. Station House Officer (SHO) Rajesh Dhangar confirmed that an FIR has been registered and the accused is currently absconding. The accused is being searched. However, no complaint has been received against the order of the panchayat yet.
