OnePlus and OPPO smartphones are well-known for their convenient alert slider, allowing users to quickly switch to silent mode. However, according to insider Digital Chat Station, both companies are reportedly planning to phase out this feature in favor of a new solution inspired by the latest iPhone models.
The upcoming OnePlus smartphone, expected to launch in March, will reportedly feature an “action button.” Similar to the iPhone’s design, this button will be programmable, allowing users to assign various functions such as activating silent mode or launching specific apps.
Previously, OnePlus removed the slider from its 10T model, citing the need for more internal space as the reason.
Interestingly, the OnePlus roadmap shared by the same insider does not indicate any planned releases in March, suggesting that the new device may instead come from OPPO. However, this theory has not been officially confirmed.
