On Tuesday, there was a meaningful conversation on several issues amid increasing tension between India and China. This talk between the two countries took place at a time when Donald Trump’s tariff war has increased tension worldwide. During this time, the current situation on the LoC was widely discussed. The emphasis was on reducing the tension on the border between the two sides, and the border cross-border cooperation, including across the border and Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra, was emphasized as soon as possible.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that the meeting between the two countries took place in a positive and creative environment and the two sides made a comprehensive review of the situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). It was also decided to restore Kailash Mansarovar Yatra between the two sides. This journey has been banned from 2020.
This was discussed during the 33rd meeting of Working Mechanism for Consultation and Cordination (WMCC) on Indo-China border affairs in Beijing. During this, the delegation of India was led by Gauranglal Das, while the Chinese was led by Hong Liang, Director General of the Department of Chinese Foreign Ministry and Department of Ocean Affairs.
In this meeting, Kailash Mansarovar Yatra was discussed as soon as possible. In 2020, the yatra was stopped due to increased controversy on the boundary of Bhurat-China.
Please tell that earlier Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt visited Beijing in January to attend an important meeting. During this time, both countries agreed to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in summer. During the discussion, Foreign Secretary and Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister agreed to take steps to stabilize the relationship and improve the relationship. Apart from this, there was also talks on starting direct air service from New Delhi to Beijing.
It is being considered as an important step towards improving the relations between the two countries and resolving border disputes between the two countries.
