The five accused who committed the kidnapping and robbery incident in Gurugram, Haryana have been convicted by the court and sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment. The Sessions Court gave this verdict on Thursday in the 2022 kidnapping case.

In this case, the police told PTI that in 2022, Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Gupta convicted the five accused who abducted the gun at the tip of the gun after giving lift to two people in the year 2022 and also imposed a fine on them.

At the time of the incident, the accused kidnapped both the victims and beat them up and looted cash, cell phone, purse and forced them to transfer money through UPI. During his investigation, the Manesar police arrested all the five accused Vivek alias Bada, Pawan, Chintu, Awadhesh and Sonu.

A spokesman for the Gurugram police said that on the basis of evidence and witnesses, the court sentenced all the five accused to seven years rigorous imprisonment on March 11 and also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on the convict Sonu and Rs 20,000 on the four convicts.

According to the police, the incident took place on July 10, 2022 at around 4.30 am, when a private company employee and his friend were offered to give a lift from Manesar Bus Stand to Anand Vihar in Delhi. The victim’s statement shown the presence of five people in the car.

Those miscreants threatened both the victims by showing gun tips and knives and forced the attackers to transfer Rs 27,000 to the UPI account. Police said about two hours later, the gang left the victims near Nirvana Country in Sector 50 of Gurugram and escaped.

In this case, the Gurugram police had recovered a car, a desi pistol and a knife used in the crime from the accused. Since then, this case was going on in court.
