Chinese auto giant byd has showcased a unique charging platform. Which is being claimed that this platform will charge the battery of the electric car so much in just 5 minutes, so that the car will be able to cover a distance of about 250 miles (about 400 km). The platform was announced during a program livestroined by BYD founder and president Wang Chuanfu on March 17, 2025 from the company’s Shenzen headquarters. The new architecture of Byd works at a speed of 1,000 volts and its charging speed is up to 1,000 kW (1 MW). Which is far ahead of the supervisors developed by the leaders of the industry. If compared to Tesla’s new V4 supercharger, Tesla’s supercharger works on a maximum of 500kw, which provides a range of about 171 miles (275 km) in 15 minutes. At the same time, the supercharger of Byd gives a strong range to the car in 3 times less time.
Because of this, it is being claimed that byd can get 10 times more charging rate than the battery capacity per hour. In other words, it can charge the battery of the car within 1/10th of one hour or in 6 minutes. However, it is not possible to happen in the real world because the speed of charging decreases significantly after the battery is charged. That is, this battery is sufficient to give 70-80% charge. Therefore, it is possible that the battery may take a little longer to charge 100 percent.

This supercharger of Byd provides current to the battery from the high voltage which can be damaged for some batteries. Nowadays, batteries like NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt), LFP (Lithium Iron Fostete) are used in most electric cars. In which chemical is used. These batteries can be warm rapidly due to high voltage. Due to which there is a risk of thermal runway (fire) or battery quickly drain.

At the same time, Build Your Dream uses the Blade battery technology developed in its own cars. Which is specially designed according to the super e-platform. Its premascular and flat structure design makes better than cylinders and pauz designs used by other car manufacturers. Apart from this, Byd has produced its own battery, chips and power electronics. Due to which they get the facility to use super e-platform for 1,000V from battery to motor simultaneously.

Byd is giving this technique in its two premium models. Which includes HAN L sedan and Tang L SUV. Their price is 270,000 yuan (30 lakh rupees) and 280,000 yuan (Rs 33.5 lakh) respectively. In both these cars, the company has used the Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS), including an exemption to compete with roof mounted Lidar sensor and luxury sports cars.
