Yesterday, Nvidia officially unveiled the GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080, and almost immediately after that, the ban on the publication of images and details about the new products was lifted. In this regard, Zotac excelled – she advertised the GeForce RTX 4090 with an image of a printed circuit board with a GA102 GPU, which … is used in the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti.
The markings on the screenshot from the video are not very visible, but, nevertheless, you can see the inscription: the board shows exactly the GA102-350, and not the AD102, on the basis of which the GeForce RTX 4090 is based. What is this, a mistake?
On the one hand, this is indeed a mistake, since the GPU (if not its image, then at least the markings) clearly do not match, on the other hand, this “incident” confirms what was said earlier: the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti was released as a test platform for GeForce RTX 4090 – with almost similar requirements for the power subsystem (450 W). We can also assume that this picture confirms the similarity of GA102 and AD102 in terms of pinout.
