1. Hyundai Verna Diesel
The Hyundai Verna is the only compact sedan to come with an automatic gearbox with the diesel engine. There are five diesel variants of the Verna on sale. Which includes S+, SX, SX(AT), SX(O) and SX(O)AT. Their prices start from Rs. 11.28 lakhs and go up to Rs. 15.73 lakhs (ex-showroom). Like Honda, Hyundai is also planning to launch the new-gen Verna in India soon.
2. Skoda Octavia
The Skoda Octavia is a cult sedan that is loaded with features and is sure to be fun to drive whether you are driving or sitting behind. The Octavia gets a 2.0-litre TSI engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. There are two variants on sale. Prices start from Rs.31.7 Lakhs and go up to Rs.35.41 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
3. Honda City (4th Generation)
The Honda City is still on sale in only two variants – SV and V. Both the variants get the 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It has a claimed mileage of around 17.4 kmpl. The SV variant costs Rs 9.49 lakh. While the V variant costs Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
4. Honda City (5th Generation)
The fifth generation Honda City gets a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine along with a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The petrol variant will continue after April 2023, but the i-DTEC will be discontinued. Its mileage is 24.1 kmpl. The diesel engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox only. There are three trims on sale. Which includes V, VX and ZX. Prices for the City 5th Generation Diesel start from Rs 13.73 Lakh going up to Rs 15.52 Lakh (ex-showroom).
5. Skoda Superb
The Skoda Superb is in a segment where people are increasingly moving towards SUVs. There are two Edisons on sale right now. This includes Sportline and L&K. Both are priced at Rs 39.52 lakh and Rs 44 lakh (ex-showroom). The Superb gets a 2.0-litre TSI engine, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
