Rapid Rail Projects in India : Preparations for bringing Rapid Rail in NCR are going on in full swing. It is being told that the Anand Vihar station will be built in such a way, which will be the only station that you will keep seeing. Let us tell you that the Anand Vihar station of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail (RRTS-RRTS) corridor will be just one floor below the ground. The unique design of this station is going to further strengthen the concept of multi-modal integration. Will ensure convenient movement of passengers from one mode of transport to another.
getting ready in the ground
It is generally seen that an underground station for urban transport is built two levels below ground, due to which it becomes sufficiently deep. Anand Vihar RRTS station will be constructed just 8 meters below the ground level, which will make the station not only an engineering marvel but also unique in its kind.
Design will be inside 8 meters
In the initial report of the project, there was a plan to build the station 15 meters below the ground. However, in doing so, the existing foundation of metro infrastructure was coming in the way of the construction of the RRTS corridor. Anand Vihar RRTS station has been redesigned as an 8 meter deep station and the concourse level has been shifted to the ground level.
After the redesigning, the construction of the station is going on just below the basement of the existing metro station of Anand Vihar. This is a very challenging task from the point of view of construction and civil engineering, NCRTC is making it possible by using new technologies, strategic planning and innovative methods for passenger convenience. This new design of the station will be convenient for the elderly, children, disabled and passengers traveling with luggage. They will not have to walk or climb much to catch RRTS trains.
how big anand vihar station
Anand Vihar RRTS station will be 297 meters long and 35 meters wide. This station has 3 lifts (1 to reach the platform and 2 to connect to the metro), 5 escalators (3 to reach the platform and 2 to connect to the metro) and 2 entry/exit gates for the convenience of the passengers. One entrance will be towards Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg and the other towards Anand Vihar Railway Station.
