Yogi has to settle the score of Ayodhya in Milkipur, Akhilesh faces the challenge of saving the stronghold. Opinion – milkipur bypoll on 5 february result on 8 february prestige war between yogi adityanath and akhilesh yadav opnm1

War has been declared in Milkypur, which is being seen as the new war of Ayodhya. First of all, by-election should have been held in Milkipur along with 10 seats of Uttar Pradesh, but that time has now come.

The Election Commission has announced the date of voting in Milkipur. Voting is to be held on 5 February, and counting of votes on 8 February. Meaning the results will come only with the results of Delhi Assembly elections.

The first political battle of Ayodhya was related to the construction of Ram temple, which ended with the inauguration of the temple in January 2024. But, in the Lok Sabha elections held a few days later, BJP lost the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat. And since then, the Samajwadi Party started promoting the victory of Awadhesh Prasad, then Milkipur MLA, as the defeat of Ayodhya for the BJP.

Recently, Samajwadi Party suffered a big setback in the by-elections held on 9 assembly seats of UP. She could barely win only 2 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party won 7 out of 9 seats – and thus, in its own estimation, the BJP has won half the battle of Ayodhya.

The opportunity has become the same as before, let’s see the result.

The atmosphere has not changed much even during Milkipur elections. In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP had to face defeat on Faizabad seat, but there were many reasons behind that defeat. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had cited the overconfidence of BJP leaders as the reason for the party’s defeat.

BJP’s defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, including Ayodhya, also looked almost like the results of Gorakhpur and Phulpur seats, in which BJP had lost after Yogi Adityanath became the Chief Minister in 2017 – and like Yogi Adityanath in the elections held after that. Had won both the seats and put it in the hands of BJP, exactly the same was seen in the recent by-elections also.

It is a coincidence that just as Lok Sabha elections were held after the inauguration of Ram Temple in 2024, by-elections are going to be held in Milkipur right after the celebrations of the anniversary of the temple inauguration. And, after that, Mahakumbh is going to be organized in Prayagraj, UP from 13 January to 26 February.

The atmosphere that was created during the inauguration of the temple to invite Mahakumbh, is still somewhat similar. There is a similar dispute going on between Akhilesh Yadav and BJP regarding the invitation to Maha Kumbh, as there was regarding the inauguration ceremony of Ram Temple in 2024 – now it seems as if the battle of Ayodhya is being fought afresh in the pretext of Milkypur. Has been.

Preparations are being made on war footing from both sides, and no one wants to miss the opportunity. To ensure BJP’s victory, Yogi Adityanath has made a stronger team for Milkipur than the previous by-elections. At that time only three ministers were deployed on each seat, this time the number is said to be double.

It is true that Samajwadi Party had saved the Karhal seat in the by-elections, but the defeat of Kundarki has set a new example. The victory of BJP candidate in Muslim dominated Kundarki seat was surprising to everyone. Of the nine seats on which elections were held, Samajwadi Party had 4, but it could win only 2 – next is the turn of Milkipur.

BJP has settled half of Ayodhya’s account, half is left

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken the command in his own hands despite the duty of ministers in Milkipur, and is monitoring it himself. Recently, a review meeting was also held, and the ministers were advised to form teams at the booth level and communicate directly with the people.

The by-election is being held because Milkipur MLA Awadhesh Prasad has reached the Lok Sabha from Faizabad. Akhilesh Yadav has given the command of the election and the responsibility of winning it to Awadhesh Prasad – this is also because it has already been decided that Awadhesh Prasad’s son Ajit Prasad will contest the election.

No such official information has come from BJP, but there is talk that Baba Gorakhnath can be made the official candidate of the party.

In the 2022 assembly elections, Baba Gorakhnath lost the election to Samajwadi Party candidate Awadhesh Prasad by 13 thousand votes. Then Awadhesh Prasad had got 1.03 lakh votes, while Baba Gorakhnath could get only 90.5 thousand votes. Awadhesh Prasad has also been MLA from Milkipur in 2012. But, after him in 2017, Baba Gorakhnath became MLA from Milkipur.

If we look at it, by winning 7 out of 9 seats in the by-elections, BJP has settled half of Ayodhya’s account, half of the account is still left – and Akhilesh Yadav will try to stop it at any cost.
