Yamaha Neo electric scooter launched in new color, price also increased

2023 Yamaha Neo: Yamaha, a two-wheeler manufacturer, currently sells the R15, MT-15 and FZ range of motorcycles in India. With this, the company sells Aerox 155, Razor Street Rally 125 Fi, Razor 125 Fi and Fascino 125 Fi in its scooter range. The electric two wheeler segment has seen a growth of about 188 percent in FY 2022 as compared to FY 2022 and soon Yamaha will also get its share in it.

Electric scooter will come

In view of the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the country, Yamaha is planning to introduce two new electric scooters in India by next year. Yamaha has already showcased two electric scooters to its dealers in India, which include the E01 and the Neo. Both these electric scooters can play a major role in Yamaha’s global two wheeler EV portfolio.

Yamaha has updated the 2023 Neo electric scooter with new features and color scheme. Under this update, the scooter has got a new turquoise color scheme. This new color option will be available with the already existing Midnight Black and Milky White.

how is the design

The electric scooter of Yamaha Neo comes in a retro styling design with sleek lines and minimalist body work. It gets LED headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail lamps mounted on the turn signals. Along with this, an LCD display is also available with smartphone connectivity, which shows information like battery status, calls, messages and route tracking.

The Yamaha Neo electric scooter is paired with a dual removable lithium-ion battery. It gets an electric motor of 2.03 kW. It has a range of 70 km per charge and a top speed of 40 km/h. It takes about 8 hours to charge.

In 2022, the price of Yamaha Neo’s electric scooter was 3,199 Euro (i.e. US $ 3,527 or Rs 2.88 lakh). After the new update, its price has now increased to 3,599 euros (i.e. $ 3,968 or Rs 3.24 lakh). This price is too high for India, and India is more likely to get a new model made in India based on it instead.

who will compete

Yamaha has informed that the testing of the prototype of its first electric scooter for India has started. After launching, this scooter will compete with Ather 450X, TVS iCube, Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida in India. Ather 450X offers a range of up to 146 kilometers per charge and its price starts from Rs. 98,000.
