Xiaomi, Oppo will start making phones in India, know when the business is going to start

new Delhi. The Government of India’s efforts have been a major success for the success of the Made-in-India policy. Chinese companies Oppo, VIVO And Xiaomi has started exporting Indian made smartphones to the global market. This change in manufacturing strategy is a big decision for India. The central government continues to follow a strategic policy that aims to make India a global manufacturing hub for smartphones and electronics.

Earlier Chinese companies refused to open their operations to export outside India. The new decision is a victory for the government and a step towards bringing global manufacturing production of these companies to India. With this move, companies are transferring some of their export volumes from their Chinese factories to India. Reports suggest that the three companies have completed plans to start exporting production from India. This step is similar to the steps taken earlier by Apple and Samsung in India. Indian made products can go to Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America.

There is a combination of facts that could drive the move of the three Chinese companies. These facts lead to a more robust policy against the Investment and Production Linked Incentive (PLI) plan from China. In addition, Chinese telecom companies are not on the preferred list of suppliers, many of whom are checking taxes. The PLI plan provides incentives for Indian-driven production and exports. These local manufacturers get the benefit of government deals and agreements.

The move by Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi to come under the PLI regime will see no automatic access to benefits. The government has said that such moves would require its approval. Vivo has already taken steps to export from India. However, recently its $ 15 million export was canceled by the regulatory. Vivo says that this move will not change its plan to export from India. Both Xiaomi and Oppo are also stepping up in operation. It is clear from the policy environment in India that there is a move to encourage exports. The Chinese Big 3 companies focused on the local market, while their Chinese factories focused on the global market.

The Government of India is planning to take its economy beyond $5 trillion. An export based market is a major driver of such a move. All three Chinese tech companies say that they are in line with the government’s target and will further invest in that direction.
