According to the analytical center of the GS Group company, referred to by Gazeta.Ru, in the first quarter of 2023, 6.4 million smartphones were imported into Russia, which is 5.2% less than a year earlier, and 18.6% less than in the first quarter of 2021.
According to the results of the first quarter, Russia accounted for 2.4% of the global smartphone market, which is 0.1% more than a year earlier. This result allows Russia to remain in the top ten largest smartphone markets in the world.
The main supplier of smartphones in Russia in the first quarter was Xiaomi, which supplied 1.3 million devices, occupying 21% of the market. The second place went to the South Korean company Samsung with a share of 14%, the third was Honor with a share of 11.3%. The fourth and fifth places were occupied by Realme (11%) and Apple (less than 11%).
Samsung is the leader in terms of the number of operating devices in Russia, of which there are 31 million units. Xiaomi has 24.8 million working smartphones in Russia.
