New Delhi. Chinese brand Xiaomi has launched pilot technology for autonomous driving. The company’s CEO Lei Jun has released the first progress report of Xiaomi Pilot Technology for Autonomous Driving. According to GSMArena, Xiaomi’s fully internally developed autonomous driving solution is called Pilot Technology. The company had pledged $500 million to set up a research and development team and refer to it as the most advanced self-driving technology.

It is worth noting that Xiaomi has hired more than 500 experts from around the world for its R&D team. The company has made several acquisitions and strategic investments to ensure access to the latest innovations and technology. Lei Jun claims that Xiaomi’s autonomous technology is using an internally developed methodology.

The company will spend another $ 300 million
The company is adding $300 million to its long-term industrial strategic capability. This investment entails direct stake in more than ten already operating businesses that deal with everything from sensors to actuators in the autonomous driving space. Xiaomi is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that it has continuous access to supplies and technology.

The company uses a full stack strategy. Gives it complete control over software and hardware, and develops fully in-house autonomous driving algorithms.
