The Bluetooth regulator SIG certified a new compact Xiaomi laptop based on Qualcomm chip, which was then listed on Geekbench. Unlike many other ARM-based devices, Xiaomi Book S was not a Chromebook, but a classic portable PC running Windows.
According to the test protocol, the compact laptop with a 12.4-inch display is based on the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 mobile platform with a maximum clock speed of 3.0 GHz. The amount of RAM of the device is 8 GB – in this configuration, it scored 758 points in the single-core Geekbench 5 discipline, and 3014 “parrots” in multi-threaded mode.
According to the benchmark, the novelty was running the ARM version of the Windows 11 Home operating system. In addition, the device has been certified by Bluetooth SIG – but the regulator did not disclose any technical characteristics of the laptop. According to the forecast of insiders, the novelty will receive a thin metal case, a limited number of interface connectors and support for 65-watt fast charging.
It is expected that the presentation of Xiaomi Book S will take place no later than the third quarter of 2022. Other details and the possible price of the laptop are still unknown.
