The DxOMark laboratory tested the display of the flagship smartphone Xiaomi 14. Experts assessed its color reproduction, brightness and other key parameters, and also compared it with the screens of gadgets from other brands. By the standards of its price category, the device showed a good result, but in the overall ranking it did not even make it into the top 20.
Xiaomi 14 received a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1200×2670 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. According to the general impression of experts, it turned out to be worse than that of Xiaomi 13. In comparison with its predecessor, the new product did not show itself very convincingly when displaying moving objects and in terms of brightness level, especially when watching HDR video (excessively dark areas of the image were noticeable).
Additionally, when playing videos and playing games, the display’s refresh rate would sometimes lag behind the frame rate, resulting in less smooth images. In addition, experts noted the heterogeneity of brightness and color rendition of the display over its entire area.
In general, Xiaomi 14 showed a high-quality picture corresponding to a flagship smartphone. But in terms of the sum of all indicators, the device took only fifty-third place in the global DxOMark ranking. But in the premium price category, it entered the top ten, ranking ninth on the list.
