The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 single-chip system will be released in November this year, the same month the first smartphone based on this platform will be released. It is reported that Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be produced by TSMC. The platform uses a new “1+2+2+3” eight-core architecture compared to the “1+3+4” architecture implemented in Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 super core and large core have been upgraded: super core to ARM Cortex X3, two large cores to Cortex A720. The GPU will be Adreno 740.
It is expected that the first smartphone based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be Xiaomi 13. Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro models should be released in the lineup. The older model should receive ceramic and glass versions, as well as a Leica camera.
