X86-P6 Pocket Introduced: 32TB Storage in a 10x10cm Enclosure

A new compact NAS device, the X86-P6 Pocket mini-PC, has made waves in the network-attached storage (NAS) market. Despite its small size—just 100 x 100 x 58.5 mm—this palm-sized device offers impressive storage and processing capabilities.

The X86-P6 Pocket supports up to four M.2 2280 SSDs, providing a total storage capacity of 32TB. However, the device’s performance is constrained by the Intel Twin Lake processor, which features only nine PCIe 3.0 lanes. As a result, when all four SSD slots are used, each drive will be limited to PCIe 3.0 x1 speeds. If only one SSD is installed, it can operate at the full PCIe 3.0 x4 speed.

Buyers can choose between two processor options: the Intel N150 or the Core 3 N355. The device also supports up to 32GB of DDR5-4800 RAM through a single SODIMM slot.

In terms of connectivity, the X86-P6 Pocket offers two 2.5Gbps LAN ports (powered by the Intel i226-V chip), two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports with data transfer rates up to 10Gbps, and two HDMI 2.0 outputs. Additionally, the device includes an M.2 B-Key slot that supports WiFi 6 or WiFi 7 modules, as well as Bluetooth.

Despite its small size, the developers have ensured effective cooling for the device. The X86-P6 Pocket comes equipped with an aluminum radiator and an active cooling system with a fan located beneath the motherboard. The top cover of the device also features screw holes, allowing users to install an additional fan if needed.

The base model of the X86-P6 Pocket, featuring the Intel N150 processor, is priced at around $200. The version with the Core 3 N355 processor is available for approximately $315. Buyers can choose between a pre-configured model with storage and RAM already installed or purchase the base version and add their own components.
