A tipster claims that internal testing of the new Xiaomi series will start in China soon.
Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its new Xiaomi 15 series, following the introduction of the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro smartphones just a few months ago. The Xiaomi 14 series was notable for being the first phones worldwide to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Now, the company is reportedly starting internal testing for the Xiaomi 15 series in China.
According to information shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on Chinese social media platform Weibo, the Xiaomi 15 series is set to undergo internal testing this month, with mass production expected to commence in September. While specific details about the Xiaomi 15 series specifications remain unconfirmed, reports suggest that the new smartphones will feature a new periscope telephoto camera and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The Xiaomi 15 series is expected to come in two screen sizes, with the standard model featuring a 6.36-inch OLED display and the Pro model sporting a slightly larger screen. Both models are rumored to support up to 2K resolution.
Additionally, the new Xiaomi phones may offer larger batteries, although exact specifications have not been confirmed yet. More concrete information about the Xiaomi 15 series is anticipated to emerge after the first half of this year. As per tradition, these models will likely be launched in China initially before making their way to global markets.
