The nearest major announcement of new AMD products – new processors and video cards – will take place in early January, but new generation Threadripper processors are not on the agenda of this event. Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000 (codename – Chagall) will be released later – March 8, 2022. A trusted insider announced this to the Videocardz resource. So AMD’s most powerful consumer processors will have to wait.
The informant also confirms that there will be five models in the series – their designations have already been repeatedly confirmed in previous leaks. And all CPUs, apparently, will be released as part of the Pro line. So, we are waiting for the following models:
CPU | # Of cores / threads | TDP, Tue. |
Threadripper Pro 5995WX | 64/128 | 280 |
Threadripper Pro 5975WX | 32/64 | 280 |
Threadripper Pro 5965WX | 24/48 | 280 |
Threadripper Pro 5955WX | 16/32 | 280 |
Threadripper Pro 5945WX | 12/24 | 280 |
Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000 will be built on the Zen3 architecture, will receive support for 128 PCIe 4.0 bus lanes and an eight-channel DDR4 memory controller.
