Microsoft decided to return to Windows what was in the system many years ago. Windows 11 is reportedly coming soon with the ability to pin widgets to the desktop.
There was a similar opportunity in Windows 7. Now, widgets are present in Windows 11, but only in the sidebar, which suggests a completely different use case.
The Windows Central resource says that through the new feature, Microsoft expects to make widgets more popular among users. In addition, last year the company made it possible for third-party developers to create widgets, so if users really like the innovation, there may be much more widgets in Windows 11 in the foreseeable future, because now there are less than two dozen of them.
