Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is now available on PC, and today we have the opportunity to evaluate the performance of most modern video cards in this game in different modes.
The authors of the Hardware Unboxed channel collected 44 3D cards and tested them in three major resolutions.
As you can see, in Full HD at maximum graphics quality settings, even models such as the Radeon RX 6500 XT and GeForce GTX 1660 Super provide the coveted 60 fps or so. The middle-aged, but very popular at the time, the Radeon RX 580 shows itself at the same level.
Interestingly, the GeForce RTX 3050 performs exactly at the level of the Radeon RX 6500 XT, although the former is usually much faster. But if you look at the results in general, you can clearly see that AMD adapters feel much more confident in the new Call of Duty than their direct competitors. If you want to get 120 fps, then you need to get a Radeon RX 6700 XT, GeForce RTX 3070 Ti or something better.
In 4K, at the same maximum settings, 60 fps is already provided only by top-end cards, starting with the GeForce RTX 3080 and Radeon RX 6800. Only the latest RTX 4090 will provide 120 fps. AMD cards look better at this resolution too. For example, the RX 6800 XT outperforms even the RTX 3090.
