When Russia will launch the Internet from space

According to Rogozin, Roscosmos received the first funds for the implementation of the Sphere satellite Internet program. This could happen as early as 2024.

As for the amount of funds, the state-owned company received 12 billion rubles this year. Another 7 billion rubles will be received next year. This will make it possible to create two flight prototypes of the Skif (Internet) and Marathon (Internet of Things) spacecraft. In 2024, the Express-RV communication satellites will be launched into space. By 2030, there will be about 600 satellites in space.

The Sphere project was developed to cover all territories of the country with Internet access. The program is similar to Starlink from SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk.
