WhatsApp will again add a “chip” to Telegram: it will allow you to send files weighing up to 2 GB

After the release of WhatsApp for iOS with support for iOS 15 features, the company also began testing the ability to send files up to 2 GB in the messenger.

According to WABetaInfo, the option is being tested in Argentina for a small number of users. In the stable build of WhatsApp, users can only share media files up to 100MB in size for now. Therefore, the expansion to 2 GB looks significant. It is worth noting that Telegram has been allowing users to share files up to 2 GB since 2020.

WhatsApp plans to roll out the new feature to more users in the future. But since only a test is being conducted so far, the messenger can cancel the decision based on its results.

Earlier it became known that WhatsApp adds reactions to messages. This option also appeared in Telegram a long time ago.
