A WhatsApp spokesperson said: “The May 2022 report has been released under IT Rules 2021. This user safety report contains information about user complaints and the action taken on them. At the same time, WhatsApp took a number of steps to prevent the platform from being misused. More than 1.9 million WhatsApp accounts were banned in May. Meanwhile, this is not the first time a WhatsApp account has been banned. The company issues a monthly report.
