The developers of the WhatsApp messenger announced the release of an update for all users of iOS 15, the new version of the messenger has the number 22.2.75. It offers improved voice memos, focus mode support, and group/profile photos along with notifications.
One of the most important features of this update is the ability to pause and resume recording voice messages. This feature has been tested since October, and WhatsApp is now available for all iOS 15 users. It’s important to note that the app is just starting to test the ability to pause and resume recording voice messages on the desktop app.
Another feature included in the 22.2.75 update is related to iOS 15. Notifications now properly support focus mode, which means selected people can still send you messages even if you set focus mode.
One last thing: WhatsApp has been preparing the ability to display a user’s profile picture when they send you a notification over the past weeks. As with Twitter, you can now see the profile picture of the person who is sending you a message, which is another iOS 15-related feature.
This update is already rolling out to regular users.
