The editor-in-chief of “Behind the wheel” Maxim Kadakov has already managed to see the prototype of the new Lada B-class model, which should be put on the conveyor in 2024-2025. In an interview with the Izvestia newspaper, he shared some details.
This is not a converted Renault Logan, and it does not look like Vesta at all, although there are echoes of the Xs on the sidewalls. The new model is larger than the Grants and slightly, by millimeters, smaller than the Vesta, it just falls into the price gap between them. There will be three versions to choose from: sedan, station wagon and station wagon. Moreover, a station wagon like Skoda Fabia, we don’t have such. The current Grant station wagon is short, and it will be a car with a long rear overhang.
He added that AvtoVAZ must meet the announced deadlines, because all the preparatory work to create the car has already been completed.
Everything is already fixed there, including appearance. Perhaps there will be some differences from the original version. For example, other headlights. Or the audio system was like that, but it will be different.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov spoke about ambitious project under the internal index XJO. This is a family of passenger cars, which will include a sedan and station wagon, moreover, a cross-version is being prepared for the five-door. The machines are based on the French platform CMF-B.
