What vitamin can provoke cancer

Folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin. It is often used in combination with other vitamins. As the authors noted, there is strong evidence that getting enough folate can reduce the risk of certain cancers. But taking too much of this vitamin can have the opposite effect, causing cancer cells to grow.

The researchers saw that in the group that took folic acid, 10% were adept at cancer, and in the group that did not take extra doses of the vitamin, the cancer death rate was 8.4%. The risk did not increase much, but still.

Experts advise you to check that your multivitamin contains no more than 400 micrograms of folate, and also not to consume this vitamin additionally unless your doctor has advised you to.
