What is Kinnar Akhara and when did it start…’, Maa Pavitra Nand Giri Ji gave this answer – Mahakumbh today from Dharm Sanad in Prayagraj

Maha Kumbh Mela is going to start from January 13 in Prayagraj in which devotees from India and abroad are gathering on a large scale on the banks of Ganga-Yumna and Saraswati. Before this Mahakumbh, Aajtak organized a Dharma Sansad in Prayagraj in which Mahamandaleshwar Sadhvi Vishwaroopa of Shri Siddhamath, Mahamandaleshwar Maa Pavitra Nand Giri of Kinnar Akhara, Mahamandaleshwar Sadhvi Divya Giri Ji of Mahanirvani Akhara and Mahamandaleshwar Sadhvi Gayatrinand Giri of Kamakhyapeeth participated. During this, he talked about the importance of Sanatan Dharma in the country, Sadhvis and women ascetics.

What is a Sadhvi?

While asking the first question, anchor Shweta Singh asked Sadhvi Vishwaroopa ji, ‘What is a Sadhvi? ‘ On which Sadhvi Vishwaroopa said, ‘Everyone is created by women and women also create sages and saints. There came a time in history when women started being suppressed, like the time of Mughal period. At that time women had to adopt the practice of veiling. Otherwise, in the Vedic period, there were many such brave women who brought glory to the country like Gargi and Maitri.

Sadhvi Vishwaroopa said, everything is incomplete without women. Therefore, women have had a high status in Sanatan Dharma. A woman is not only a mother but also a teacher, a doctor and a saint. Sadhvi is that form of woman who teaches every ideal to the woman. Every woman needs to maintain Sanatan Dharma and this is the duty of the woman. A woman is the form of Maa Lakshmi, Maa Saraswati, Maa Durga, Maa Kali and Maa Chandika. Every woman should be full of values. The creation has been created by a woman, if she is cultured then her son and family will also be cultured.

Is it easy for a Sadhvi to leave a relationship or not?

On whether it is difficult for a Sadhvi to leave a relationship or not, Sadhvi Vishwaroopa ji said, ‘Yes, it is difficult for a Sadhvi to leave the family. No matter how much any woman talks about empowerment, there is always a difference between men and women. God has also given women an emotional and soft form. Besides, more ideas are churned out by women only. In fact, this thinking of the society has made men and women stand in different circles. Women are kept suppressed since childhood and when a woman starts moving forward, people start questioning her character. But, despite all this, women are very powerful. Women should never be considered inferior to any man. But, women should also stay away from social media because the reels that women are making these days are weakening the Sanatan culture.

Agreeing with Sadhvi Vishwaroopa ji, mother Pavitra Nand Giri ji says, ‘If the mother is troubled, then the entire family of that mother is troubled because the entire family is connected to the mother. Therefore, if the mother is cultured then the family will also be cultured. You should work in life in such a way that people know you.

What is Kinnar Akhara?

Mother Pavitra Nand Giri ji, while giving her opinion on Kinnar Akharas, said, ‘In earlier times, the society used to despise Kinnars and they were kept in the minority category. But, the eunuch class is the most powerful class of the society because this class is also the form of Shiv Shakti. Society has always looked at eunuchs in a wrong light. But, Sanatan Dharma accepted eunuchs and gave them a high position in the society. Today, it is because of Sanatan Dharma that people do not despise eunuchs but take their blessings. Due to which Kinnar Akhara was established in Ujjain city in 2013 and we Kinnars were given a place in the Simhastha Kumbh held in 2016. At the same time, our Akhara will also present in the Mahakumbh of 2025, this is a big thing for the transgender community. Gradually more people are joining our Kinnar Akhara again, which is a big victory.

What is makeup?

Mother Pavitra Nand ji while giving her opinion on makeup says, ‘If I do not do makeup then I am incomplete. Makeup is very important for a woman because our Gods and Goddesses are also full of makeup. Every eunuch person is identified by her makeup. Makeup is a jewel and an art. Even in Kumbh, Mother Ganga is decorated and everyone salutes her and will continue to do so.

What is the function of Mahamandaleshwar in Kumbh?

Anchor Shweta Singh asked this question to Sadhvi Divya Giri Ji, ‘What is the work of Mahamandaleshwar. So Sadhviji replied that Mandleshwar is related to Akharas. The tradition of Akharas in Kumbh is very important for any post. The word Akhara is made from Akhand. The entire foundation of Akharas is based on weapons and scriptures. The responsibility of Akharas is very special and the importance of Akharas increases only with the help of Sadhus, Sadhvis and Sanyasis. In the 2019 Kumbh, there were 300000 sannyasis in the June Akhara, out of which 200 were women sannyasinis. And this number is gradually increasing. The number of women ascetics increases only slightly in Ardh Kumbh, but the number of women ascetics increases significantly in Purna Kumbh.

What is the importance of scriptures and weapons for sadhvis?

Sadhvi Divya Giri ji says on this that, ‘The word Akhara means weapons. Earlier weapons training was given in the Akharas. Gradually there was a change in this, people moved away from weapons and came to the scriptures. Similarly, there are Akharas for women monks and they are also trained. Women of all ages come to become monks for whom special care has to be taken like physical development, monthly growth. Also, what the female monks want to learn is also taken into consideration. The youngest female monks need more training. And as they grow older, they are led towards devotion.

Is the process of becoming a Sadhvi and a Sadhu the same?

Anchor Shweta Singh questions Sadhvi Gayatrinand Giri whether the process of becoming a Sadhvi and a Sadhu is the same or are there some different difficulties or rules. On this, Sadhvi Gayatrinand Giri says, ‘There are same rules for becoming a Sadhvi and a Sadhu. Any person becomes a saint after a lot of hardships and for that he has to perform worship on time. One can become a sage at any age and there is no age limit for a sage. Only Pind Daan is done by a Sadhu.
