OnePlus has recently launched OnePlus 12 and 12R, and people are liking both these phones a lot. The cheapest variant in the company’s latest series is 12R and a surprising thing has come to light about it. Actually, it has been revealed that OnePlus has given wrong information about the new phone. At the time of launching, it was told that the phone has UFS 4.0 storage, but now it has been revealed that this phone has UFS 3.1 storage.

The information about this change has been shared by Kinder Liu, COO and President of OnePlus, through his post on the community this week. The company not only made this mistake during launch but also mentioned the wrong UFS standard on its website.

So now the question is, how did OnePlus get it so wrong? The company was thought to be using UFS 4.0 storage, however, OnePlus has introduced the Trinity Engine which works in software to boost memory and storage performance, which many believed That was due to using the latest storage standard.

Now that OnePlus has made this clear, it means that people buying OnePlus 12R will buy a phone with UFS 3.1 storage and not UFS 4.0.

This clearly means that no significant changes have been seen in this new series. That’s because the company’s OnePlus 11 series is also available with UFS 3.1. Liu assured that having UFS 3.1 storage will not hamper the life of the phone, and it will easily last for 48 months (4 years) or more.

How much does the new fin cost?
Talking about the price, the price of 8GB RAM / 128GB storage variant of OnePlus 12R has been kept at ₹ 39,999 and the price of 16GB RAM / 256GB storage variant has been kept at ₹ 45,999. Customers can buy this phone in cool blue and iron gray color options.
