Scientists conducted a study with 4,200 participants. All of them periodically passed tests for cognitive (cognitive) abilities. The participants also talked about how many sugary drinks they drink.
This made it possible to build a correlation between the amount of sugary drinks consumed and the state of cognitive functions. Scientists saw the following picture: if a person drank one or two glasses of sugary drinks every day, his brain seemed to be 5.8 years older, and if he drank more than two glasses – by 11 years. We are talking about a deterioration in memory function and a decrease in the volume of the brain.
Scientists noted that this area should be further explored.
