Eating as little as 200 grams of blueberries can help lower systolic pressure and improve blood vessel health, according to one study. Accordingly, it is worth drinking a drink made from these berries.
The researchers offered the blueberry drink to 40 men daily for a month. Other volunteers received a control drink for comparison. Participants had their blood pressure measured at regular intervals, as well as other parameters.
The results showed that drinking the drink caused the arteries to dilate, and this effect persisted for two hours after drinking.
