According to ET, the market analyst said that November shipments are expected to decline month-on-month due to high stocks and low demand. The analyst said that this year could be the worst quarter ever for smartphone brands. The October stock is still stuck in the pipeline.

Counterpoint Research has cut its forecast to 163 million, down from its earlier forecast of 175 million, while IDC India has forecast shipments to around 150 million units from 160 million units estimated earlier this year. However, according to Counterpoint, the market is expected to recover in the second half of 2023 as macroeconomic headwinds ease. The research firm predicts that the smartphone market will sell 175 million units in 2023 after an annual decline of 5% in 2022.
