Volkswagen Virtus will have its world premiere on March 8, know the features of this luxurious car

The new Volkswagen Virtus will be based on the India-specific MQB A0-IN platform. Talking about the powertrain options, this mid-size sedan will be offered with two engine options.

Volkswagen Virtus: Volkswagen India is going to do the world premiere of its new mid-size sedan in India on 8 March 2022. The company announced this today on Wednesday. It is likely to be called the Volkswagen Virtus. This will be the company’s second product under the Volkswagen Group’s New India 2.0 project. Volkswagen’s first offering under this project was the Taigun. Volkswagen’s new mid-size sedan will replace the Vento sedan in the company’s India line-up.

According to some media reports, Volkswagen’s new mid-size sedan for the Indian market will be a facelifted version of the Virtus sold abroad. Although, it is being developed specifically for the Indian market, but later it will be exported and launched in other countries as well. The new Volkswagen Virtus will share its mechanicals with the Skoda Slavia. Skoda Slavia is to be launched in India on February 28, 2022.

Features of this great car

The new Volkswagen Virtus will be based on the India-specific MQB A0-IN platform. Talking about the powertrain options, this mid-size sedan will be offered with two engine options. The first will be a 1.0-litre TSI motor that makes 113 hp and 178 Nm, which is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

It will also get a 1.5-litre TSI engine that generates maximum power of 148 hp and peak torque of 250 Nm. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DSG. Once launched, the VW Virtus will be the most powerful sedan in its segment, along with the Skoda Slavia. The new Volkswagen Virtus mid-size sedan will make its global debut in India on March 8, 2022. When launched, it will take on the Skoda Slavia, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna.
