Volkswagen T-Cross: The Volkswagen T-Cross facelift will soon hit the global market. Here’s what to expect in the update.

Regarding features and technology, it’s anticipated that the Volkswagen T-Cross and Taigun will offer more than their competitors.

Volkswagen T-Cross Facelift: The new Volkswagen T-Cross SUV is set to debut in South America in the upcoming weeks. It shares the same platform, body panels, and several cosmetic enhancements as the Tigun sold in India.

Initial Sales in Brazil: Manufactured in Brazil, the South American T-Cross will initially be available for sale in Brazil. Various test mules have revealed styling updates, including a new grille with multiple horizontal slats and a slightly elevated Volkswagen logo. Additionally, minor adjustments to the headlamp design are expected, incorporating Volkswagen’s latest IQ headlight technology, similar to Audi’s matrix headlamp technology.

Design: The front bumper will feature a new air dam, while the fog lamp inserts will resemble those of the premium T-Roc SUV. At the rear, subtle updates to the tail-lamps and bumper will provide the SUV with a refreshed appearance.

Interior: Interior revisions are expected, including changes to the dashboard, body-color trims, upholstery, and the adoption of the Volkswagen Play infotainment system seen in the Tigun and Virtus sold in India. These changes are anticipated to extend to the Taigun later.

Expected Changes: In terms of features and technology, the updated T-Cross and Taigun are likely to surpass their rivals. Features such as ADAS and a 360-degree camera, increasingly common in this price segment in India, are expected to be included.

Powertrain and Platform: The Brazilian T-Cross SUV offers a choice between a 1.4-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine. In contrast, the Taigun in India is available with 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine options. Both SUVs share the same platform.

Global and India Launch: The new T-Cross is expected to launch globally in the coming months, while the India launch of the Taigun may take longer. The Taigun was introduced as the T-Cross in Brazil approximately a year before its launch in India.
