The research company JATO Dynamics reports that the Peugeot 208 car at the end of this year has a great chance of becoming the best-selling car in Europe, ahead of the Volkswagen Golf.
According to the latest data, the Peugeot 208 compact car was the best-selling model in Europe not only in October, but also in the first ten months of this year.
Sales of the Peugeot 208 in Europe in October this year amounted to 17,075 vehicles, up 23% from a year earlier. Second place went to Volkswagen Golf, whose sales increased by 96% to 17,038 vehicles. Third place went to Dacia Sandero with 16,147 cars (+18%).
16,117 European buyers bought the Fiat 500, which saw a 24% increase in sales. The top five also included the Toyota Yaris model, which increased sales by 2.4 times over the year, to 16,039 cars.
Toyota Yaris, Renault Clio, Citroen C3, Toyota Yaris Cross and Opel/Vauxhall Corsa are ranked sixth through tenth. Their sales were 13,378, 13,167, 12,248, 12,079 and 11,560 cars respectively.
