The sedan and SUV Aurus, which are built on the same platform, passed full-fledged climatic tests, as described by representatives of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise NAMI. Cars were tested right near the border with the Arctic Circle – in the city of Noyabrsk in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
In January, the thermometer in Noyabrsk drops to -55°C (tests were carried out at -45°C), and in summer the region is usually not warmer than 16°C. During the tests, NAMI experts evaluated the consumption of fuel, technical fluids, as well as the overall performance and degree of pollution-snowiness of cars in winter conditions. Among other things, the development team checked the frequency of occurrence of malfunctions and driving properties of cars in severe frosts.
“In all tests, the car showed its best side. And NAMI has once again confirmed its status as the leading scientific and engineering center of the transport industry,” NAMI said.
Aurus currently produces the Senat sedan and the Komendant crossover, which are built on the Single Modular Platform (UMP) and are equipped with a hybrid power plant. She received a 4.4-liter V8 petrol turbo engine and a 62-horsepower electric motor, as well as a nine-speed automatic KATE.
