Passenger Vehicle Segment
In August 2022, 2,74,448 units have been retailed in the Passenger Vehicle segment, registering a growth of 6.51% as against 2,57,672 units in August 2021. At the same time, an increase of 48.77% has been registered against 1,84,477 units in August 2020 and 41.35% as compared to 1,94,165 units in August 2019. This shows that this segment has come down to pre-Covid level.
two wheeler segment
In August 2022, 10,74,266 units have been retailed in the two wheeler segment, registering a growth of 8.52% as against 9,89,969 units in August 2021. On the other hand, there has been an increase of 15.36% against 9,31,241 units in August 2020 and a decline of 15.85% as against 12,76,681 units in August 2019. Still the two wheeler segment continues to be the most affected.
three wheeler segment
In August 2022, 56,313 units have been retailed in the three wheeler segment, registering a growth of 83.14% as against 30,748 units in August 2021. On the other hand, there has been an increase of 228.51% against 17,142 units in August 2020 and a decline of 0.66% as against 56,686 units in August 2019. This segment is growing rapidly, this segment is making a comeback very fast.
tractor segment
The tractor segment has retailed 49,305 units in August 2022, registering a decline of 31.72% as against 72,208 units in August 2021. On the other hand, there has been a decline of 27.98% against 68,460 units in August 2020 and an increase of 7.17% against 53,112 units in August 2019. There is a big decrease in this compared to last year.
commercial vehicle segment
67,158 units have been retailed in the commercial vehicle segment in August 2022, registering a growth of 24.12% as against 54,107 units in August 2021. On the other hand, there has been an increase of 144.64% against 27,452 units in August 2020 and a decline of 6.16% as against 63,259 units in August 2019. Sales have improved a bit this year.
gross sales
15,21,490 units have been retailed in August 2022, registering a growth of 8.31% as against 14,04,704 units in August 2021. On the other hand, there has been an increase of 23.82% against 12,28,772 units in August 2020 and a decline of 7.45% as against 16,43,903 units in August 2019. Vehicle retail has still not reached the pre-Covid level.
The registration of vehicles has not been good for the market and it is very less as compared to the booking figures of the companies. On the other hand, the sales of most of the segments have not reached near the pre-Covid level, so companies need to perform better.
