Variants and colors of Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG leaked, will be launched on January 19

  • The CNG option in Tata Tiago will be given with XM, XT and top variant XZ+.
  • The CNG option in Tigor will be available with the XZ and XZ+ variants.
  • A new midnight plum shade will also be given with the Tiago CNG.
  • Both of these will be the first cars in India to get CNG option with the top variant.
  • It will be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine from the current model, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Tata has confirmed that it will launch the CNG versions of its Tiago and Tigor on January 19. Bookings for both these cars are currently underway and their CNG models have also started arriving at dealerships. Now the information about the variants and color options of Tiago and Tigor CNG has been revealed which are as follows:-

According to a document released by a dealership, the Tiago will be offered with CNG option in three variants – XM, XT and the top-end XZ+. This indicates that the XM variant of this hatchback will be relaunched. At the same time, the option of CNG in Tigor will be available with two variants XZ and XZ+.

A new Midnight Plum color option will be available with the top XZ+ CNG variant of the Tiago. At the same time, the rest of the shed will be given only with the petrol model.

If Tata offers CNG option with the top variants of both its models, then it will become the first car in India’s automotive industry to come with CNG option. This is because most car companies offer optional CNG units with base or mid variants only.

Top variants of Tiago and Tigor will get 15-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, fully digital instrument cluster (standard), automatic AC, electric ORVMs, dual front airbags (standard) and rear parking. Features like camera have been given.

Talking about the XM and XT variants of Tiago, apart from the standard features, none of the above features are available. On the other hand, the XZ variant of the Tigor gets front fog lamps, wheel covers, ORVM mounted turn indicators, Bluetooth enabled infotainment system and push button engine start/stop.Tata Tiago CNGEngine details of this vehicle are yet to be revealed, but CNG option will be given with the current 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine (86 PS). The power and torque figure of this vehicle may get lower due to running on CNG. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard with the engine.

In India, the price of CNG variants of Tiago and Tigor can be kept at Rs 80,000 more than the petrol variants. Currently, the Tata Tiago price ranges from Rs 5.72 Lakh to Rs 6.40 Lakh, while the Tigor price starts from Rs 7.68 Lakh and goes up to Rs 7.29 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The CNG variants of the Tiago will compete with the CNG variants of Maruti Celerio, Maruti Wagon R , Hyundai Santro and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios . At the same time, the Tigor CNG will compete with the Hyundai Aura CNG .
