Vande Bharat: Tata is preparing Vande Bharat train seats, plane-like facilities for Rs 145 crore

Vande Bharat Train Route : The country’s most trusted steel company Tata Steel has been entrusted with the task of preparing the seats for the state-of-the-art train ‘Vande Bharat Express’ of Indian Railways. Let us tell you that this seat will be able to rotate up to 180 degrees. The supply of these special seats to the Railways will start from the month of September. However, this will be the first seating system of its kind in the country.

Received order worth Rs 145 crore
Tata Steel’s Vice President (Technology and New Material Business) Debashish Bhattacharya says that the company’s composites division has been ordered to provide seats for 22 trains of Vande Bharat Express. The cost of making this order is about Rs 145 crore.

Seats can be rotated up to 180 degrees
Devashish Bhattacharya said, ‘These are specially designed seats. These can be rotated up to 180 degrees and will be provided with facilities like aircraft seats. This is the first of its kind supply of train seats in India. The supply of these seats will start from the month of September and will be completed in 12 months.

Seats made of FRP
These seats designed for Vande Bharat trains are made of Fiber Reinforced Polymer. Apart from being convenient, these seats will also contribute in increasing the safety of the passengers. Fully domestically developed Vande Bharat train can run at a speed of 130 kmph. It is one of the fastest trains in the country.

Rs 3,000 crore spent on research
Bhattacharya says that Tata Steel is planning to spend Rs 3,000 crore on research and development activities by 2025-26. This is part of the target of taking Tata Steel to the top 5 steel companies globally by 2030. More attention is being paid to company research and development.

The Vice President of Tata Steel says that Tata Steel is setting up a new plant in Khopoli, Maharashtra to manufacture the Tata Steel Sandwich Panel. It is being told that a company from the Netherlands is working as a technology partner in this. The sandwich panels made in this plant will be used for interiors in railway and metro coaches.
