Using a drone to video a wedding or Instagram post? Learn the new rules

New Delhi: New Drone Rule: Drones are being widely used to take photos or videos. Anyone is buying cheap drones from the market and making photos or videos for Instagram. It is also often used in wedding ceremonies. But, no one can fly a drone. Rules have been made by the government to fly drones. Violation of this rule may result in a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh. So, before flying a drone, know what the rules and laws say about it.

Rules of Drones

All drone pilots have to register their drones digitally before flying them. Along with this, all drone presence and flight information has to be given in advance.

Any organization or individual is required to obtain a drone certificate to fly a drone. Which is issued by Quality Council of India or Central Govt.

Each drone has a unique identification number (UIN). It is important to maintain this (UIN) number.

(UIN) is mandatory for all new and pre-owned UAVs.

It is necessary to cancel the registration of the drone if it is sold.

Category of drones
Drones are divided into 5 categories.
A small drone weighing less than 2 kg is called a nano drone.
Drones weighing between 250 grams and 2 kilograms are called micro drones. Medium drones range from 25 kg to 150 kg.
Large UVs range from 150 kg to 500 kg.

Drones cannot be flown without a license
Drones weighing less than 2kg do not require permission to fly at weddings and ceremonies. But, if it is overweight, you may have to pay a penalty.
Flying a drone weighing more than 2 kg without permission can attract a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
Drones are prohibited from flying over any sensitive areas. Doing so will incur a fine.
Location and route permission is required to fly drones weighing more than 2 kg.
