Users will no longer be able to take screenshots on WhatsApp, know why?

WhatsApp ‘View Once’ Feature Will Change

And now WhatsApp is soon going to add a feature that will prevent users from taking screenshots from ‘View Once’ media files. The social messaging app introduced the View Once feature a while back, which allows users to send photos or videos for a single time, after which they disappear. This was done to provide more privacy to the users. Now it looks like WhatsApp is going to make many more changes in the View Once feature.
This feature has been spotted in the new WhatsApp beta version by WABetaInfo, a portal popular for spotting upcoming WhatsApp features.

WhatsApp beta 2.22.22.3 brings screenshot blocking feature

WhatsApp beta 2.22.22.3 for Android and the new beta version for iOS 22.21.0.71 bring screenshot blocking feature to the Meta-owned social messaging app. In the above screenshot, it can be seen that a user sent a picture to the receiver as ‘View Once’. But when the receiver tries to take a screenshot of the same, it gets blocked. Cannot take screenshot due to security policy. Also if the screenshot is taken after using any third party app then the photo becomes completely black.

Screen recording of video will not be possible

In addition, WhatsApp will not allow screen recording of a one-time video view on its app due to the new security policy. The new feature of WhatsApp does not allow users to save, forward, edit the media file once.
